One week following the first national event for ECNL of the club season, many of the clubs in the league were in action as teams look toward the next event. For clubs in the Girls Academy League, the first event of the season is upcoming with the West Region Showcase for the 2008 and 2009 age groups kicking off on Oct. 22. Check back later this week for a preview from that event.

In a clash of two top programs in the Girls Academy Southeast division, the Tophat 05 GA Gold side defeated IMG Academy 3-2. Madison Nichols was a standout in the midfield contributing to all three Tophat goals on Sunday.
Layla Sirdah scored two goals and recorded an assist on the weekend against the two Florida teams – IMG Academy and West Florida Flames. Katie Jamison finished the weekend with two assists. Archer Streelman, Tatum Ahlemeyer, Taylor Lewin, and Millika McLeod also scored goals and Sarah Houston contributed with an assist. Jenna Sapong recorded another shutout in goal on Saturday and had several remarkable saves in the Sunday win.
Madison is ranked in the top 150 club players in the country and trains and plays with Tophat Soccer in Atlanta, Georgia as a member of the #11 ranked team in the country with the #1 soccer club in the US. Madison also plays in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) with MOBA Peachtree City.
