Madison says she’s had very high level coaches tell her that they wish her club was in the ECNL to play better competition. But what happens when the best team from the ECNL plays the best team in the Girls Academy League? That question was answered last weekend when Girls Academy National Champion, FC Bay Area U18/19, played ECNL National Champion, MVLA. On September 12, the GA side, FC Bay Area, won the game decisively 3-1.
While the clash in Northern California was the biggest one on the weekend, but there were plenty of other clubs in action over the weekend. Madison Nichols scored a goal and recorded an assist in two wins this weekend against Palm Beach Gardens SC and #16 ranked Florida United (formerly Weston).
Madison sparked the attack in Saturday’s game recording both the goal and assist within 3 minutes. The goal was a missile launched from just beyond the 18, slamming the underside of the crossbar and into the net.
Madison is ranked in the top 150 club players in the country and trains and plays with Tophat Soccer in Atlanta, Georgia as a member of the #11 ranked team in the country with the #1 soccer club in the US. Madison also plays in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) with MOBA Peachtree City.
